One year ago, a suburb of Shanghai named Lingang got a big promotion, becoming a special area of China (Shanghai) Free Trade Zone.  Over the past year, more than 15,000 companies have moved into Lingang, most of them involved with cross-border businesses, and of course the backbone of cross-border businesses is commercial banks. Here’s the story about what role the banks have played in Lingang's rapid development.
